Horses for Lease

Listed below are the horses available for onsite lease at Gaston Farm Road Equestrian Center.
Please contact us for details about these horses. To learn more about leasing, please view our Lease agreement and flyer located on the forms page.

Sue

Sue is a Palomino Quarter Horse mare. She has always enjoyed riding on our trails and will work in an arena at walk, trot, canter on que but requires a soft hand and quiet leg. She has limited show experience but has done very well with the little exposure she’s had. She is safe on the ground with little children and has been used in our camps and in Strides of Strengths Therapeutic Services program. Sue has had some time off from riding but is ready to get back in the ring with an intermediate rider.

Dillan

Dillan is a 19 year old palomino Rocky Mountain Pleasure gelding standing at 16 hands. Dillan is NOT gaited, he can W/T/C! Dillan thrives in the dressage ring, with a large floaty trot and achievable frame. He can and does canter, but needs assistance to hold the gait. He no longer jumps, but enjoys working over trot poles. Dillan has not been worked consistently, but loves to be taken out of the pasture and loved on. He is a horse that very much cares about his appearance and always appreciates a spa day. Dillan likes to go out on the trails, but only with a buddy because he has never been the bravest of horses. Dillan is a very good boy but is only being offered to an intermediate/advanced rider due to his size and strength.

Reaction

Reaction is a 15-year-old Paso Fino mare.  This versatile girl loves the trails and will be an exceptional lease for an intermediate rider. (Pictures coming soon)

Skye

Skye is a palomino/paint Tennessee Walking horse gelding. Skye is a very intelligent and willing horse, who needs the right rider to guide him. His owner Brenda, who he loved more than anything, passed away in 2017. Skye is completely gaited, and can be ridden in English or Western tack. He has not been ridden consistently as he was not the best fit for our lesson program which is mainly for beginner riders. He is best suited to an intermediate/advanced rider who can spend time with him on the ground and in the saddle. Skye loves to go out on our trails and spend time in the arena. He requires someone with patience, but is one of the sweetest horses we have at the farm.

Gritz

Gritz is a 17 year old Arabian/Paint cross gelding. While Gritz has done just about everything, he is only for lease to a confident rider. He is a very sensitive boy that requires an equally quite and sensitive rider. He loves day Camp Geronimo Painting days, baths and attention. He is a great asset to Strides of Strength Therapeutic Riding and is the first one to meet you in the pasture.

Dee Dee

Dee Dee is a Quarter Horse mare with quiet the personality and a very willing attitude. The lessee will be required to be in a lesson program.

Geronimo

Geronimo is a 14 year old paint gelding. He was born onsite at Gaston Farm Road Equestrian Center on April 4, 2010. Geronimo went to Howell Horsemanship, and was doing excellent while being consistently worked with and ridden by our trainers. When trying to introduce him to our lesson program we realized that Geronimo thrives when being cared for by fewer individuals who are intermediate/advanced riders. Not all horses are cut out to be lesson horses, so we think it is best for Geronimo to have a person all to his own. For a while now Geronimo has been spending his time in the pasture, but we want him to get back to enjoying work with someone.
